Ethnic Ornament

This time I am going to share a pattern that is totally different from all other patterns ever published on this blog.

Recently I was asked to recreate an ethnic ornament from an old picture. It was not created by me but somebody else and maybe decades or centuries ago. Well, the task was not easy due to low quality of the picture but the result is very nice.

Happy Easter!

Five years ago I published a cross-stitch pattern Easter Owl. And recently I was asked to publish the same pattern without the owl.

Well, this way the pattern became much smaller and easier to realize. Besides, you can omit all back stitches, I’ve used to outline the letters. Thus you’ll get pretty small and simple pattern.

Kitchen Series: Beautiful Boletus Mushrooms

The pattern I am going to share today was created for Jill. Beautiful Boletus Mushrooms is a bit out of subject here, as far as everyone is preparing to celebrate Christmas and New Year. But I am sure it won’t be passed over.

The pattern Beautiful Boletus Mushrooms is very small – only 45 x 48 stitches but I’ve used more than 20 colors to create it.

Vintage Christmas Patterns

These small Vintage Christmas Patterns were created for Megan. All of them do not exceed 50 x 50 stitches but are aimed at experienced stitchers as there are some broken stitches present. Besides, I’ve used lots of back-stitches there and all of them of different colors! Well, it was a joke.

The Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle!

Recently I was asked to create a cross-stitch pattern of the most successful children’s entertainment group in the world, The Wiggles. Well, this image doesn’t depict current members of the group, but I’m sure that lots of us remember the “Old Wiggles” very well.

This cute girl with clever eyes is Gabriela from the animated television series Sid the Science Kid produced by The Jim Henson Company. She is the most sensible character and often is a leader of the group activities.

Miss Susie

The pattern “Hot Air Balloon” was created for Kivilcim using full cross-stitches and back stitches and requires some experience to be realized.

Red Snowflakes

I have received several letters where you, my dear cross-stitchers, asked me to create some snowflake patterns using cross-stitches only. So, I prepared this post, totally dedicated to snowflake patterns, without back, broken or speciality stitches.

Each snowflake is no more than 30 stitches large and you are welcome to choose the pattern you like to create Christmas atmosphere in your home.

Baby Ursula

For centuries these large, horrible, freak and hideous creatures have been keeping people in fear. And that fear, being warmed by our rich imagination, grew into awesome trembling before everything abnormal. And nobody has ever thought that once all monsters were small and cute and innocent babies. Just like Baby Ursula that one day will become a sea witch from Disney's animated feature film “The Little Mermaid”.

As I’ve promised in my recent post “Sea-patterns: White Shark” for today I prepared a Seahorse pattern with seaweeds. Hope, that you, my dear cross-stitches, will like it.

By the way, I've used emerald green to back-stitch a body of the seahorse while his eyes and seaweeds are back-stitched with black.

As she asked, I’ve added some bubbles, and seaweeds are following soon with a seahorse pattern.

The Lotus Eater

Sometimes I dream about careless life of a Lotus Eater somewhere on the Pacific islands, life without traffics, hurry, life in jungles, but not that of cement and stone… Well, somebody is already living that kind of life. I think this small frog is just an example.

The piece is a snap-shot from the Soviet cartoon “Frog the Traveler” and was realized for Irina. By the way, the pattern is very simple (only 10 colors and a few back-stitches), so even beginners can cope with it. So, nice cross-stitching and take it easy!

Baby Phoenix

 “I’ve got a baby Phoenix as a present for my b-day. He’s so cute! I like it very much and would like to cross-stitch his portrait. I’d like it to be up to 100 stitches, full cross-stitches only, and up to 15 colors, if possible. Here is the link Squishable Phoenix…” This letter I received a few days ago from Sandra.
